Each year, Cherub Project holds a Christmas party for children ages 3 though 12. The party is complete with a nutritious meal, games, crafts -- even Santa Claus! And, of course, gifts for each child -- one toy and one article of clothing.
For many, it is the first time these children receive a gift with “no strings attached.”
Here's where YOU come in... we invite donors to purchase and wrap each gift and become our "angels."
Cherub Project gift-giving is as easy as 1-2-3!
- Our Board of Directors reach out to friends, family, co-workers and the community, asking them to select a child's name (first names only to protect the child) with corresponding gift tags and a short list containing his/her wish list of toys and needed clothing. The gift-giving list will be available shortly after Thanksgiving.
- Our friends -- these "angels" -- donate their time and own money by purchasing one item in each category (one toy and one article of clothing). There is a $50 total maximum spending cap. The money can be split between the two gifts in any proportion. We limit gift-giving to $50 between two gifts per child for equity purposes so no child receives more than another. Want to give more? Many generous "angels" take multiple names!
- "Angels" wrap the gifts, attach the gift tags provided and bring the items to our drop-off centers or is picked up by a Board Member one week before the party.
The presents that have been lovingly bought and wrapped are then given to each child at the party.
